The Greatest Show on Earth!!

Last Sunday, Grandma took us to see the circus.  She had been planning for months.  She was so worried that she wouldn’t be able to make it to Greenville from Asheville because of some crazy snow storm that we had the tickets in the car and ready for weeks just in case we had to go without her.  Fortunately, she was able to go.  We had a great time.  It was all very fun and very overwhelming.  The group favorite was the ball with the motorcycles driving around in it.  If you haven’t been to the GSoE in a while, they put three motorcycles in the very small ball and the ride around at very fast speeds.  Then, they ask you if you want to see more and they keep adding a motorcycle until they get to 6.  It was pretty unbelievable.  Daddy kept yelling, “We believe you!!  You are the Greatest Show on Earth!!  You don’t have to keep proving it to us!!!”  You can tell he isn’t a risk taker!  ;)

The only time we were able to take pictures was before the show when we were able to walk around on the floor.  Here are some of those pictures…

Grandma and Huey waiting for the man on the stilts to sign her book

Getting an autograph from one of the girls

We stood next to a ring and watched different acts.  Because of all of the people the girls were a little ahead of us.  I called Huey’s name and this is the expression I got.  Bless her heart, she was terrified, but really having a great time.  She really did love the circus, but it took a little while for her to get used to it.  She kept saying, “Oh, my word!”

Our favorite thing to see when we were standing next to the ring was the elephant that came out and painted for us.  So cool!!

Here are the excited kids and their grandmother.  There was a lot of chaos going on while we were trying to take the pictures, so they are a little distracted and glassy eyed.

View from My Camera – Hampton

Hampton has turned one year and I am so sad!  He was a Baby Program client and now I don’t have an excuse to see him and his mom every 3-4 months.  But, all three kids are now Life’s a Journey clients so I will at least get to photograph them more.  Yay me!!!!  Hampton did so good during this session, but he was a little more melancholy than usual.  Him mom told me that turned out to be sick and running a fever the next day.  So, that makes him even more of a star.  Look how cute he is.  Priceless!!!!!

View from My Camera – Joel

Joel and his mom came to me for his one year pictures.  His family moved here a year ago and they found me to take pictures of their family.  But, the week that they came to me for Joel they found out that they are moving to Birmingham.  I am so sad!!!  I loved meeting his mom.  Hopefully I can photograph them again before they move.  Good luck with the move Joel!!!

Victoria and her brother came to me for their Christmas card pictures.  Their mom won an auction from the Chocolate Soiree last year.  I was thrilled to be able to meet them.  They were so fun.  You can see how much they laughed.  And check out those red shoes.  I just love them.  I need some too!  Thanks guys.  I hope to see you soon.

Getting Ready for Church

You might or might not know that I basically stopped fighting my kids for what they were going to wear since my oldest was 18 months old.  He was able to verbalize pretty early and he would fight me from a very young age on what I picked for him to wear.  We had a lot of mornings of crying until I finally gave in.  So, I often do not pick what they wear.  Joe thinks that we are doing a huge disservice to our kids because they think that what they wear doesn’t look crazy.  I am praying that they will find out before they come of the age where they will be made fun of at school!

Anyway, currently Louie is my most eccentric dresser.  She is my most eccentric child in almost everything, but definitely in her attire.  So, tonight I told her to get dressed for church.  She was wearing the green/teal dress that I just bought her and some pajama pants.  So, she brought me this outfit.  What you can’t see is the USC cheerleader skirt underneath the two dresses.  Yes, she has on two dresses, a skirt and Furman sweatpants.  I am assuming that people at church knew that I didn’t dress her!!!  ;)

My favorite part of this picture is that I told her that I wanted to take her picture.  She went and stood in front of the wall and posed herself!  Too cute!!!  She’s a keeper.
