Here is a video we created from our Spring Event. We had so much fun!!!! Let me know what you think. You can also see it on YouTube…
Rain, Rain, Go Away!
I should be thankful for the rain. And most days I really am. We have been in a drought and I am so thankful that we aren’t this year. But, we have a huge mud pit in our backyard (although it is getting smaller). I know our contractor wants to work, but he can’t. I think we have been able to work about one-two days a week this past month. And I can’t take pictures when it is raining. If there isn’t any light outside, there isn’t any inside. It is a bummer!!! Aahhh, rain….
Louie was decked out in rain goulashes and an umbrella most of the day. She was so excited to accessorize!
On Monday they were able to build the walls for the foundation and then filled it in right before the rain came on Wednesday. I am so thankful for the house moving vertically!!
View from My Camera – Laurel
Laurel’s family has been with me from the very beginning. Her cousin was the first itty bitty newborn I photographed. So, she is very very special to me. And now she is a Baby Program client. We had a great session. She was a little bit older than newborn because she had to go back in the hospital for a week after she was born. But, now she is out and doing so well. I am so excited to watch her grow.
I am one proud Mama
I am so very, very proud of my son. This weekend he competed in his very first chess tournament. And he didn’t start little, he debuted at the State Championship!! I couldn’t believe it! And then I found out that Joe wasn’t able to go in with him into the room, so he went in by himself and sat at a table with older kids and played chess. He is so brave! And, to top it all off, he won a game and tied a game!!!!! Can you believe it?! He also won another game while playing during a break. I know I shouldn’t brag, but I needed to tell the world how proud his Mama is of him. I love him more than he will ever know.

Our House
Well, I haven’t posted about our house in a while so I thought I would post some updates. Not a lot to show because of the rain, but hopefully we will have the foundation started tomorrow before for the rain comes again.
When construction is happening at the house, my kids have a front row seat. Here is Huey…
And just a few inches over is the contractor!!! Not sure he knew he would have an audience when he signed on to this job! They are pouring the footers.
While the concrete was still wet, I let the kids sign their initials. Of course, while I was saying, “Don’t touch the concrete!!” Louie ran and jumped in. She had her shoes on backwards, so it looks like she jumped in with her feet crossed!
One day I while I was taking pictures, I saw what the contractor usually sees…
Does this mean that our tree will survive???
If his Daddy saw him…
The strings have been pulled for the foundation…
Here is Dewey climbing up the tree.
The first cut into the house.
Illegal!! ;)
View from My Camera – Eliza
Eliza is a beautiful Baby Program client. Here are her five months pictures. Her mom is another precious resident client of mine. So, so sweet. I just love her. We had a blast during Eliza’s session. Eliza is such a good baby. And while her mom and dad looked at her pictures today, she talked to us the whole time. I can’t to see what she is going to be like at 3. Precious!!!
View from my Camera – Lilly
Lilly is a new Baby Program client. Her grandmother lives in our neighborhood and found out about our Open House. She came for the event, and Lilly became a new client. I was thrilled to finally meet her after listening to the stories about her from her proud grandmother. And, she lived up to all of the hype. She was as perfect as described. I can’t wait to watch her grow.
Snow Day!
Today is a snow day! Well, the kids got out at noon and there was a lot of energy around here when we got home. Dewey’s school emphasis is “creative writing” and he writes a lot of stories at school. One night for homework our family was asked to write a family story (each of us went around the table and told one sentence at a time to make the story). So, I decided to write a story during lunchtime today while we watched the snow falling outside. Here is what we came up with. You can tell about each child’s personality with their sentences. And then each person took a picture of our view from my iPhone. Again, their perspective. Enjoy!
Louie – One day there was snow coming.
Huey – It was really cold and very chilly.
Dewey – It was wild and stormy and wet and cold at the same time.
Me – We looked out of our breakfast window and saw something moving at the back of the yard.
L – It was under the snowman.
H – It was a tiny polar bear who wanted to find a home that noone could find him because they always bragged at him and yelled at him.
D – Actually it was an Abominable snowman that was tearing up every house.
M – The Abominable snowman was so far away that it looked tiny, but it really was the size of a house.
L – Because of the snow, the polar bears were fighting and everything they had got tooken.
H – Because God took away all of their stuff because they were mean to each other and God said, “If you want to get back your stuff you have to apologize to each other and be nice.”
D – The Aboninable Snowman said, “They are never going to get their stuff back. I am going to break their boooooonnneeessss.”
M – As we watched, we were all terrified. What would happen to the tiny polar bears? What would happen to the Abominable Snoman? Did he really just tell God No?
L – We said, “Go away Snowman!!!!”
H – God said, “If you follow my rules, and don’t brag about the tiny polar bears, then you will be my friends and always follow my rules.”
D – And the Abominable Snowman smushed the big polar bear.
M – We were terrified. The soft, cottony blanket of snow was just turned into a war zone.
L – And the polar bears were frightened of the snow coming down. The polar bears were saved. And it came with Jesus. He was in charge, but they were OK and Jesus told them to be saved and he got them to not sold their toys and the bad guys were nice and saved and carried their Valentine’s. And everyday the storm was gone and every sentence was already OK and the people were OK and everyday they were saved and it was fine that they were saved.
H – The polar bears were so happy the bad guys got dead and the polar bears danced around with the family and it was snowing everyday in the Artic. And no other bad guys or creatures came and they hidded in a safe place where no snow creatures could get them.
D – But, the snow they were dancing on was the Abominable Snowman and he called the army and they brought all of their tanks and guns in and shot the polar bears in the hearts.
(H – Now Mamma – say something nice to end it. Don’t say something about the Abominable Snowman. Say something about the polar bears.)
M – What a sad, sad ending to this beautiful snow day.
THE END

View from My Camera – Jack
Jack was almost two weeks old when he came to see me. He was so precious and itty bitty. I also loved meeting his parents. His mom was as precious as him and his dad graduated Furman the same year I did. Who knew!!! But this meeting was bitter-sweet. Jack is moving to Charleston soon for his Daddy’s business. I told his mom today that I will miss watching him grow up. Hopefully I will get to see him again soon.
